EMEA Director Integrated Data Center (IDC)

Panduit Data Centre Infrastructure

Michael Adams joined Panduit in 2015 to lead the development of the Integrated Infrastructure Data Centre Team for EMEA Region.  Adam’s appointment is a new role for the company and strengthens its proposition in this important market sector.

Adams will lead the data centre business development activities for the company’s long established physical infrastructure core product range, in addition to increasing the penetration of its innovative SmartZone® portfolio – including the SynapSense Cooling Optimisation solution.  Adams brings a wealth of technical experience to the position and over thirty years of industry expertise within the data centre and convergent technologies environments.

His team will focus on building and strengthening relationships within the data centre market, developing specific convergent solutions for EMEA.  Adams supports Panduit’s data centre thought leadership programme and presents at a number of leading global industry events.

Adams was born and educated in South Africa, and began his career there as a design engineer before starting his own standby power business.  He subsequently moved to the UK, where in 2001 he was appointed UK and Ireland Country Manager for American Power Conversion (Now APC by Schneider Electric), before becoming Managing Director for the territory – overseeing significant levels of business growth.

After a further three year stint as EMEA Professional Services Director, he left APC in 2007 to head a start-up business, before joining AEG Power Solutions as its Global VP for Data & IT, developing and executing strategy to strengthen the company’s stand-alone UPS channel business, as well as refreshing their product and service portfolio for medium and large scale data center applications and then relaunching this to the sector.

In 2011 Adams joined Hewlett-Packard as EMEA Director of Critical Business Facilities, where he implemented a global account awareness strategy for the data center consolidation consulting business, before then assuming a Sales & Business Development Director’s role within the company.

A well-known figure within the industry, he has successfully led initiatives to help customers reliably process large volumes of data, whilst simultaneously managing their ever-rising facility operating costs.

Michael has joined TheStack to provide his own unique insights and thoughts on industry developments.
