David Kay spent nearly 40 years in the IT industry working for Burroughs, Data General and IBM.
During the last 30 years, he has worked in a variety of senior sales and general management positions. During his time as IBM UK and Ireland Sales VP, David was responsible for around 2,600 sellers and played the lead role in transforming the IBM sales model to focus on sales eminence and social selling capabilities.
Always involved in new and exciting industry areas, David launched IBM’s Big Data Strategy in the UK in conjunction with senior academics at Saad Business School, Oxford. He has also been heavily involved in taking IBM’s Artificial Intelligence solutions to market.
David has written about, presented on and coached executive leadership skills and continues to mentor executives in this area.
David is now formally retired from his full time occupation and acts as a non executive director for a specialist Cloud Managed Services and Cyber Security Company.
David always stresses to any aspiring leader the importance of humility; a quality imposed upon David from a very early age as a Preston North End supporter.
